By Olivia Flores Alvarez

Published on July 17, 2008

The Children’s Hilltop Theatre Festival gives kids a week’s worth of fairy tales — for free. On Tuesday, it’s Beauty and the Beast, reset in Mexico. On Wednesday, it’s Freedom Train, an uplifting musical that recounts a slave family’s escape on the Texas Underground Railroad during the Civil War. On Thursday, it’s Peter Rabbit, and, finally on Friday, it’s Hansel & Gretel. Each performance is at 11 a.m. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 100 Concert Drive. For information, call 713-682-5044 or visit www.expresstheatre.com. Free.
